Integrated Resource - The Hive

Welcome to the Hive (Integrated Resource)

St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School has an Integrated Resource (IR), called TheSt Thomas of Canterbury Primary School has an Integrated Resource (IR), called TheHive, which provides additional support for 14 children with a Primary need of complexphysical disabilities. There may be a Secondary need for cognition and learning difficulties.

All children in The Hive have an EHC Plan. They are provided with a place in The Hivefollowing consultation between the Local Authority SEN team and parents. All places in The Hive are allocated by the Local Authority.

The Hive aims to meet the individual needs of each child through providing an adaptedand engaging curriculum in a calm, nurturing learning environment.The Hive classroom is located within the main school building. It has a purpose-builttoilet for children with physical disabilities with a hoist and a shower.

Our aim is for children with an I.R placement to spend some time learning with theirmainstream peers in the mainstream class. The time spent in their mainstream class isdependent on their individual needs and is likely to vary over their time at school.
