About Us

Our Core Values

At St. Thomas of Canterbury School we believe and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. You will find us to be loving, caring and spiritual.

The governors and staff of St. Thomas of Canterbury School recognise that they work to educate the children in their care in a range of ways, as the centre of this is the spiritual development of the children, particularly in the Catholic faith.

The school celebrates Mass with our parish on Holy Days of Obligation, and classes travel to church on a regular basis. The children, parents, school and parish work together to prepare the children to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. We hold regular whole school liturgies linked to the time of the liturgical year, and pilgrimages.

All staff have responsibility for upholding the Catholic values of the school. The RE and Catholic Life subject leader is Matthew Richardson.

Our local parish is Our Lady of Beauchief and St Thomas of Canterbury.
