Welcome Back

A warm welcome back to school for the Autumn Term. I would like to start by thanking you for the patience and understanding you have shown to support the school in the additional closure days. I am very pleased to say that the school is looking fantastic as a result of the work that has taken place, and this will have an impact on the lives of your children.

This welcome letter replaces the e-bulletin for this week. One other point to note is that the e-bulletin will now be sent out every other week, meaning that the next one to expect will be on Monday 25th September. Of course, if there are essential pieces of information that need to be shared in between these dates, you will hear them.

Very shortly we will also be able to share with you the new school calendar, which is in a different format and style. We have worked very hard on this document and hope that it is one which you find useful and informative.

Ceilings and Lighting

The school has had a complete re-wire over the summer, with new lighting and ceilings in all classrooms, as well as a new fire alarm system. All the classrooms have been painted a crisp white, and visually they now look even more stunning. The school really is a superb environment in which to learn.

New Reception and Pre-School Children

It is a privilege to welcome our new Reception and Pre-School children this week. It is an honour to be entrusted with their education, and we look forward to seeing them blossom and grow into incredible young people.

Information Evening For All Parents

We would like to invite you to the school on Wednesday 20th September at 6.30pm for an information evening at which key information and curriculum developments, as well as further information about the vision and mission of the school, can be shared. This will also be an opportunity to see your child's class and meet their class teacher.

EYFS/KS1 Playground

You will no doubt have seen the exciting development taking place in the KS1/EYFS playground. This should be completed this week, and I am sure the children will enjoy testing their physical skills on it. Just to note that if your children are using the equipment before school, please ensure that they are supervised. A huge thank you to the Friends of St Thomas for funding the initial phase of this

development. We have plans to further add to it throughout the year, and as such are seeking donations through the following link, so please spread the word:

Year 1 and Year 2 parents

On Thursday 21st September between 3:30 - 4pm there will be a brief meeting to share how we will be delivering some of the maths homework this year using a programme called Maths with Parents. We can offer a creche on this day. If you are unable to attend the meeting we will send your registration details home and class teachers will be happy to talk about this new programme with you.

Coffee Morning For New Reception Parents
